Self signed SSL Certificates

If you need to create a self signed ssl certificate, you can use the “selfssl.exe” tool; which is part of the IIS Resource kit. You can grab it from the Microsoft site.

Typical usage is like this:

selfssl /t /n:cn=subdomain.domain.net /v:365

It means that create me an ssl certificate for that cn and the cert will be valid for 365 days. If you don’t mention the days, it will create a 7 day valid certificate. It is the default length.
